According to Romney and his RADICAL right wing Supporters it is President Obama’s Regualtions that are Responsible for Destroying Jobs
If you listen to Mitt Romney campaign, you would think that President Obama was setting some kind of record for imposing new regulations. Although the Obama Administration has imposed 886 new regulations since he took office, it must be noted that in the same period President George W. Bush instituted 931 new regulations. In other words, President Obama is not doing anything out of the ordinary.
However, when you listen to Mitt Romney on the campaign stump all you hear about are the President’s regulations that are killing the economy. These types of generalized arguments are typical for the party out of power to make, but it is important that you hole their feet to the fire and ask them to specify exactly what regualtions they are talking about. When you do that, all they can come up with are what they refer to as the ‘Maleficent Seven,’ and here they are:
EPA Regulations:
1. Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards
2.National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Coal
3. National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Major Source Industrial, Commercial & International Boilers and Process Heaters
4.Standards for the Management of Coal Combustion Residuals Generated by Commercial Electric Power Producers
DOT Regulations
5. federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111, Rearview Mirrors
6.Electronic On-board Recorders and Hours of Service Supporting Documents
7. Hours of Service
Did you ever wonder what it would be like to fly on an airplane that hadn’t been inspected, or to eat can food that did not have to pass government regualtions. this is what regulations are all about. Protecting the public. The very same public that the GOP and the wealthy are trying to exploit.
If Republicans get their way you can expect that deregulation would lead to an increase in employment, especially in the healthcare industry since there would be an increase in the number of reported cases of asthma, cancer and diabetes as well as more accidents on the job.
The economic collapse of 2008 was caused by right wing led deregulation, namely the repeal of Glass-Steagall, and not by government regulation as you will so often hear in the fairytale land of the far right. Just ask JP Morgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon, whose bank recently lost over $2 billion in a risky deal that went wrong, and he will tell you that we need more regualtion not less.

Scott Walker and the rest of the GOP are Playing the 99% Republicans for Fools
When Scott Walker ran for governor of Wisconsin, he ran on the platform that he would balance the budget and create jobs. We have been telling you all along that this was a lie. Now, there is video evidence that this was indeed the case. Prior to the election Walker, when asked by a young female billionairess if he could turn Wisconsin red and make it a right to work state, Walker replied that his plan was to divide and conquer by playing private union workers against public union workers and destroying unions in Wisconsin. This is what Republicans always do. They turn one group against another. Remember, teaching and government jobs represent the few remaining decent paying jobs for American workers. These are the real public servants and not shit like Walker. The young billionairess went home and donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Walker campaign.
This is what Republicans have in store nationwide for the American people. Slavery! Competing for jobs, while driving wages lower. Don’t be a FOOL and vote for any Republican candidate.

Mitt Romney: How Wrong Can You Be?
Mitt Romney is now taking credit for President Obama’a bailout of the American auto industry. When GM first went bankrupt, it was Mitt Romney who wrote that a government bailout of GM would prove to be an enormous waste of government money, and that we should let the bankruptcy proceedings go forth so that a private company could buy out the automotive giant. Now, he wants to take credit for President Obama’s vision. What we are learning about Romney is that he likes to have it both ways. We used to think that he was just a flip flopper, but we are learning every single day that he is just a plain old liar.
Romney is also accusing the President of using what he calls failed liberal policies of the 20th century to help bail out a 21st century economy. Tell that to someone who is alive today because of food stamps, or to someone on Social Securithy, or someone on Medicare, or Medicaid. These are all 20th century liberal programs and I strongly doubt that anyone on these government programs thinks that they have failed. The problem with Romney is that he is so far removed from reality that he has no idea what it is to go to bed hungry, or to decide whether to spend your last dollar on heating oil or your medications.
The Republicans and Romney rely on getting votes from barely literate blue collar white voters who live in states whre they are no exposed to the truth. Now, he has to try an gain the support of educated Independent voters, but to do so he would have to alienate his ultra right wing supporters.

Conservative Republican Claims that They are the Party of Freedom and the Constitution are Pure Nonsense
I think that it was Huey Long orat least one of his relatives that once said, if their was fascism in America its proponents would call it antifascism. Cries of FREEDOM and upholding the Constitution by right wing Republicans is a good example of this.
The problem with Washington politics today are clearly defined by the manipuation of Congressional districts to include large majorities for the incumbent party. This is particularly true of Republican efforts led in the 90s by the likes of Tom Delay in Texas to redistrict seats so that the GOP could control those districts forever. What this has led to is Congressmen who never face a challenge from the Democrats. The only way that they can be unseated is by someone in their own party who is more extremely conservative than they are. these individuals called Tea Party Republicans aren’t even willing to negotiate on any issues.
In 2010, when GOP candidates ran for governorships and Congressional seats, they ran on the premise that they would create jobs, but once elected all they did was lay off government workers and try and cripple municipal unions which usually support Democrats. The newly elected GOP governors and their Republican controlled legislatures then proceeded to pass legislation requiring voter ids as a criteria for voting. These ids, like driver’s licenses, are often something that poor people who usually vote Democratic do not have, since they cannot afford to own a car. These voter ids usually cost money which means they are a form of poll tax which is strictly forbidden under the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Republican claims that they are preventing voter fraud is totally unfounded as their have been only a very few cases of voter fraud natinwide over the past 40 years. The reason for this is that the penalties for voter fraud make it veryunlikely that anyone would partake in this endeavor when the banefits are miniscule at best. How many times would a person have to vote to make a difference?

Terrorism Should Still be the Number 1 Priority in 2012
The only reason that the terrorist threat has fallen from the top of the list of issues in the 2012 presidential election is the effectiveness of the Obama administration in dealing with al-qaeda and the Taliban. When George W. Bush ran for reelection in 2004, he and the Republicans effectively made security the number 1 issue in the election. They painted Democratic candidate John Kerry as weak on defense. Today, Romney and the GOP want you to think that the main issue facing America today is the economy, but according to the basic theme of GOP politics, the only real role for the Federal Government in America should be defense and that is precisely what Barack Obama has delivered.
Recently, Fahd al Quso, 37, was killed in an airstrike in Yemen. Fahd was one of Yemen’s most wanted terrorists and had been indicted for his role in the bombing of the USS Cole in Aden. This along with the FBI thwarting of a terroritst bomb threat by al-qaeda in the Arabian peninsula, was just the latest in a string of counter terrorist moves by the Obama administration that has killed 27 of the organizations top 30 leaders including Osama bin Laden.
While the GOP likes to claim that they are the party of American defense, they have a dismal record when it comes to defending America. Remember, it was a Democrat, Woodrow Wilson, who waged war in WW1, it was a Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt who led the country during WW2, it was Harry S. Truman who led the fighting in Korea, it was John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Baines Johnson who waged war in Viet Nam. Meanwhile, it was George W. Bush and the many of the very same GOP Congressional leaders, who still hold office, who were at the helm on September 11, 2001 when the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were attacked by terrorists.
The only way to keep America safe is to go with the party of defense, and that is the Democrats under the steady leadership of Barack Obama.

Romney Wants to Shrink the Federal Government
It has become the mantra on the far right that the government in Washington is somehow corrupt and that the way to fix the problem is to shrink big government. In some respects they are right, but their solution to the problem is totally off base. By shrinking the government Republicans would give more power to the states and to big business. However, this would only make the American government more disfunctional.
The main problem with the Federal Government is the influence of big business lobbyists and not the government per se. Over the past 30-40 years Congress has allowed the major American corporations to consolidate into huge monopolies. This is true in energy, healthcare and particularly in finance. Five major banks now control a majority of the wealth in the nation, and it is this economic self interest group which is responsible for many if not most of the economic problems in America today. It was these very same banks who were responsible for the housing crisis in 2008, and it was many of these very same banks who were bailed out by TARP. After the bailout, you would think that these institutions would have been grateful to the American government and the people of the United States, but instead they were only driven by their own self interests.
These financial institutions, many of whom backed President Obama, have now turned on the President and are backing Republican candidates because the President had the audacity to try and regulate their business under Dodd/Frank, a law that did not go nearly far enough. It was President Bill Clinton and the right wing conservative Republicans, led by Newt Gingrich, who were responsible for repealing Glass-Steagall, a law that had stopped abuse in the banking industry for over 50 years. After its repeal, under George W. Bush, it took less than 10 years for the banking industry to collapse.
It is Romney and the rest of the radical right wing Republicans claim that regulations under the Obama administration are what is responsible for the slow economic recovery. It is their claim that Washington should cut spending and lower taxes and that this would fuel the economy, however, many countries in Europe tried that very same strategy and they are now back in recession. Countries like Spain, Ireland and Portugal have unemployment rates approaching 25% while England too has fallen back into recession. Meanwhile growth in the American economy remains slow but steady under the leadership of President Obama.
The major problem with Mitt Romney, is not that he is inauthentic and stands for nothing. It is that his, somewhat secret, solution to the economy is to repeat the very same policies which failed under George W. Bush and the Republicans during the 8 years prior to Barack Obama becoming President, and similar policies have failed in many European countries.

Romney and the GOP Plan to Cut Taxes on the Wealthy
One thing is certain. If the Republicans and Mitt Romney win the 2012 elections you can kiss Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid goodbye. These GOP RADICAL right wingers are planning to abolish the American safety net for the poor and the elderly in order to cut taxes for people like Mitt Romney. Now Romney only pays 13.9% income tax compared to the 30-35% paid by ordinary working folk. however, it seems that even this is too much for him. While Mr. Romney released 2 years of income tax returns, he has refused to release his returns from earlier years. It is known that Mr. Romney had offshore tax havens, but to what extent he used them to avoid paying income tax remains unknown.
While Republicans in Congress like to cry that raising taxes on the wealthy would be raising taxes on the job creators, it is perfectly clear that the American Middle Class are the real job creators and not the super rich. People only create jobs when there is demand and not because they have more money. People create jobs to be more productive and earn even more money, but why would you invest your money if there was no demand for your products or services. This is especially true if the government was offering you a whopping tax cut with no strings attached. Now, you can earn extra income without taking chances.

According to Mitt Romney American Soldiers Who Fight for Their Country are Morons
Mitt Romney has finally let the cat out of the bag. In his vision of America the sole deciding factor as to the worth of an individual is their bank account, or should I say their offshore tax havens. In other words, it is hedge fund managers, vulture capitalists, like himself, and anyone who makes a lot of money who are the people to be honored in his America, not the dedicated civil servants like teachers, fire fighters, police officers and yes the American military. It is his erroneous claim that somehow these wealthy individuals are being discriminated against by the Obama administration and the American tax code. He preaches this utter lie even though it is very clear that the average millionaire in America pays only around 18% a year in income tax, while the average working stiff pays a whopping 32% or more.
While Romney and the Republicans are constantly harping on the deficit, it is clear that spending has actually decreased under President Obama, and that most of the spending under his administration was originally created under the administration of George W. Bush and the rest of the very same Republicans who yell about the deficit. It is strange that when the GOP is in power you never hear about the deficit, and they spend like drunken sailors. Only when the Democrats are in office do they whine about the deficit.
It is the Republicans erroneous claim that we cannot raise taxes on the wealthy or this would put the economy back into recession, and that the only way to cut the deficit is to cut spending. In England, they did precisely that. They cut spending and lowered the highest tax rate for the wealthy from 50% to 45%, and what happened? The English economy went right back into recession, while the American economy has been growing at a rate of between 2-3% a year.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin is another good example of what happens when you cut spending and lower taxes on the wealthy. Gov. Scott Walker ran for office claiming that he would create jobs. Once elected he cut the salaries and benefits for civil servants and then proceeded to make collective bargaining illegal for these very same workers. He now claims that he has created jobs, even though the statistics show a job loss of 23,900 jobs since he took office, or the worst record on jobs in the nation.
Mitt Romney’s record in Massachusetts on job creation was just as dismal. When he took office as governor the state was 37th in job creation. Under his administration the state fell to 47th in the nation in job creation. Today, under the leadership of Gov. Duval Patrick Massachusetts is 5th overall in job creation. In other words you cannot blame conditions in Massachusetts for Romney’s dismal record on jobs. It was Mitt Romney who was responsible for the states poor record on jobs.

Mitt Romney is Preparing to SCREW the American Middle Class.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s economic plan is almost identical to that of George W. Bush. Remember, it was ‘W’ who drove the American economy to the brink of disaster and now Mitt Romney is planning to take the American economy over the cliff. Much like George W. Bush, Romney is planning huge tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans while at the same time raising taxes on the poor. How out of touch with the average American can you be? He has NO idea what it is like to be denied just a few extra dollars a year when that is all that you have to buy food. Keep in mind that once you cut taxes for the wealthy that money is gone, and someone has to pay for these tax cuts and that someone is the American Middle Class. Remember, the economhy is a pie and if rich people get more you get less. Today, wealthy Americans already pay far lower tax rates than the American Middle Class.

When is Mitt Romney Going to Stop Lying About President Obama’s Record?
Recently, in a speech at the now defunct National Gypsum plant in Lorain, Ohio, Mitt Romney criticized President Obama for the closing of this drywall company. While for some idiotic reason people think that Mitt Romney would be better for the economy, one thing is perfectly clear. His recollection of historical facts is no better than that of Michele Bachmann, or Rick Perry. You see, National gypsum went out of business when George W. Bush was president, and not when Barack Obama was president. Of course, President Obama could have stepped in and offered Federal assistance to the company to have it reopen its doors, but you must remember Mitt Romney’s opposition to President Obama’s bailout of General Motors.
It seems that Mr. Romney likes to play loose with the facts. If Mr. Romney really could do a better job with the economy, then he would be offering solutions and not pointing fingers. Mr. Romney also claimed that 92% of all jobs lost under President Obama were jobs held by women. This is just another one of those erroneous facts put forth by Mr. Romney. You see, those figures were for only one month and that month was right after the President had just taken the oath of office and before the stimulus package was passed.
You see, Mr. Romney, much like Mr. Bush is trying to transfer even more wealth from the American Middle Class into the hands of wealthy people like himself. Therefore, he is blaming the President for the failures of the Bush administration. Strangely, Mr. Romney’s economic plan is eerily similar to that of Mr. George W. Bush. More tax cuts for the wealthy and cuts in Federal programs for the poor.
